Back in 1898, Francisco Taquechel converted this townhouse into a pharmacy. It was then restored and reopened in 1996 to function as both a museum and a pharmacy.
Today, it houses a collection of French porcelain apothecary jars from the 19th century. It’s also home to instruments found at excavation sites in the city’s historic center. This includes antique measuring pots, a solar microscope, and a century-old French porcelain water filter.
The pharmacy sells natural products made in Cuba and other drugs. It’s also a truly stunning building, with mahogany shelves and floor-to-ceiling cedar.
